上世紀90年代服裝設計專業畢業，在大學執教7年後，於1999年移居上海，於「逸飛」時裝公司開始設計師的職業生涯。2005年初，張達建立其服裝品牌「沒邊/ Boundless」 。同時，他也活躍於當代藝術展、設計展覽。

美籍華裔攝影師，旅居日本7年，曾居住在中國內地、台灣等地。他的作品發表展出於 《Foam》、Hyere 服裝與攝影節、 Canon「寫真新世紀」、東京宮等。知名攝影系列包括「My little Dead Dick」、「Modern Times」等。
第一期《Be Water Journal水象》，聚焦來自全球的「文化創造者」，他們如水那樣，保持向萬事萬物學習的謙卑之心，因此得以流動、不息；他們在一片喧囂之中，冷靜反思當下的環境與時代，對「混合文化、傳統再生、科技、城市化、多族群共存、災後生活」等社會文化議題，作出積極回應。
這種小而持續的回應，匯集成了滴水穿石的能量。水象希望通過對這些議題的探討，引發人們對歷史與傳統的好奇與尊重，對自然之力的敬畏，並且友善地對待他人。這所有的議題亦是對生活本質的探尋：如何在真正意義上更好地生活——當物質富足後，精神該歸放何處？是自掃門前雪，還是你榮我榮?
除了關注全球化之下的社會議題，作為一本來自東方的刊物，我們也注重「文化自覺性」。中國知名社會學家費孝通先生，在晚年對如何處理不同的文化關係進行過這樣的理想描述：「各美其美，美人之美，美美與共，天下大同」（發現自身文化之美，發現與欣賞他人文化之美，最終達致融和之境）。水象 相信，對於自身文化 DNA 的發掘與運用，可以更好地與世界互動。並且，古老的東方智慧及背後的文化不論是對個人還是對現代社會的問題，都能提供到一些珍貴答案。
